“Team Liberia” Was formed in 2021, by the coming together of United Methodist Women and the Young Women Network of the Liberia Annual Conference with the support of Global United Methodist Women and the supervision of Regional Missionary – Finda Quawa. Team Liberia works closely together in turning faith, hope and love into action for women children and youth. Together, the team provide economic empowerment for women and girls through livelihood skills training, scholarship, mentorship, devotional guide development, participation at assemblies, etc. The team main mission is to nurture the young women into the United Methodist Women Organization so that they are prepared to continue the legacy when the women shall have parted the scene.

20 Districts and one circuit benefited from the economic empowerment program of Team Liberia. More than 100 young women were trained with livelihood skills (tie and Dye, arts and bags, liquid soap and bleach production). One young women who is practicing Skills they have learned from the past young women gatherings was selected from each district as direct beneficiary for the Economic empowerment project. Some of the beneficiaries received their materials for their small business and others will receive their materials during the annual assembly of CUMYAF.
Currently, there is a small Agro Business Project that has already been launched in Lofa River District. The project will take place within the three regions; three districts. (Nana Kru from Region 3, Moweh from Region 1 and Lofa River District from Region 2). The project is a pilot project.
The team also attended a one week intensive training for transformation (TFT). 10 young women from the three regions benefited from the training. The 10 Young Women are to train not less than 80 young women before the end of next conference year. The team was at the just ended young women gathering where they trained the young women. They provided some training to the young women on the Book of Discipline, the YAF constitution and some livelihood skills training.
